Our Special Men

For those of you who participated in a New Mom’s Group that I facilitated, you might remember me saying that it’s important to make a list of ten things to do for yourself by yourself and cycle through that list every two weeks. Making a habit of this ensures that we are consistently practicing self-care.

Today, as we celebrate the father’s in our lives, consider asking them (today or later) what activities would make their list. If you are partnered, consider making this an activity you do together and post both of your lists visibly in your home.

The visual reminder of what activities give each other life may help both of you create spaces of support for the other.

Adulting and especially parenting can be strenuous exercises. In order to do both well, we need full energy tanks to tackle all that life throws us. Give the gift of knowing your partner’s self-care love language so that they, too, can have a full tank year around.

I hope everyone had a great day!
