Reunion

Nick and I just came back from a vow renewal ceremony in Kansas City. It was beautiful. But, as is customary after attending weddings, I am in no condition to “life.” We dragged ourselves home today from the airport and I’ve been watching early episodes of Grey’s Anatomy as I convalesce in preparation for Monday.

Soo, I’m going to keep it short tonight. The only thing I want you to take away from this email is that we are hosting an Inaugural SHMOM Reunion on Saturday, May 11, 11:00am - 1:30pm for all moms who have participated in our new mom’s group since February 2018.

Here are I am with the bride. We met a few years ago when she rented the storefront next our Lenox Avenue location. She opened Trintage there and it has easily become one of my favorite places to shop. Byrd and I were strangers who became neighbors and have quickly moved from friends to family. 

Some moms have moved away. Others have purchased apartments on the same floor of their apartment buildings. Many are keeping their WhatsApp Group alive.

You are still doing life together. And that makes me so happy.

The whole point of the group was to turn strangers into neighbors, neighbors into friends, and friends into family. In that vein, we are hosting a gathering for all SHMOM alumnae.

We’ll be in Morningside Side Park (123rd entrance) so there’s a play area for all ages. We’ll have some light provisions, but bring some snacks to share.

I can’t wait to see you all and have you all meet each other. Please spread the word among your cohorts, and let any expecting moms know that our next SHMOM group starts on May 9th.
